Description of Services Provided by eJobShop

We Provide the Following Services:

  1. Specification Review Services
  2. Development Services
  3. Platform Testing Services

Specification Review Services

As a precursor to other eJobShop services or as a standalone offering, Independent Contractors review a Customer's existing specification for a Java or web-based project and ensure that it contains enough information for successful and efficient remote development or platform testing.

Prices for this service will vary depending on the initial state of the specification.   For example, there is no charge for specs approved with only minor changes.   Rates for more extensive work can be based on hourly rates for the Contractor selected for the service, or as a percentage of a follow-on Development Project.

Development Services

Once a specification has been approved and all elements defined, the Customer's job is reviewed by the registered Independent Contractors with the appropriate expertise (see the Areas of Expertise page for a sample).

Jobs can be bid by the project or by the hour.  Jobs bid by the hour will often include a not-to-exceed term.

The Customer selects the winning bid based on the quoted price, the Contractor's track record (which often equates to schedule risk), or the expected completion date.

Once accepted, contracts are signed and development proceeds, with pre-defined milestones and code deliveries.

Platform Testing Services

For either pre-existing Java programs or those created through eJobShop, we offer platform testing of Java code on a wide variety of Browser/JVM, OS & Hardware configurations.   For a sample of platforms available, please see the Test Platforms page.

In most cases the customer defines the test plan, any metrics to be tracked, and the format for the resulting report.

Prices for this service vary depending on the testing time required and the number and type of platforms to be tested.
